This year's Canoeing in the Ardeche course took place last week, but not without complications! Weeks of torrential rain and hailstorms left the usual route of the gorge at such a high water level that it would have been illegal to paddle down.

Not ones to give up in the face of adversity, the Woodlore team, headed by local canoeing instructor Tony Pape, came up with a Plan B! After some quick-thinking, the group packed their bags and relocated to a new area, set amid the stunning scenery of snow-capped mountains and aqua-blue waters. Not a bad trade then...
