No Smoke Without Fire!

2012 has seen a whole host of new courses being added to the Woodlore roster, covering such skills as navigation, flint knapping and tracking. Arguably though, the most important skill to have in Bushcraft is the ability to create fire and, as we all know, there is more than one way to do it. Woodlore's first ever Fire Lighting Techniques course took place last week to teach exactly that, with a cracking team of Dan, Keith and Steve at the helm. Last weekends Fire Lighting course was a great success and the students in attendance left with a massive sense of achievement and certainly many aching muscles! In spite of the wet weather, flames were kindled and morale was high. Techniques were demonstrated by the Woodlore team before the students tried their hand. It really was a fun couple of days, jam packed with useful and potentially life-saving skills. - Dan Hume

It was such a fantastic weekend – full on and tiring, but what a way to get tired. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the team and to all who took part.
