This Fallkniven DC4 is truly excellent, easily the best that I have used over many years. Great for my Moras and Japanese kitchen knives.

I used one of these on the Fundamental Bushcraft course and it became a trustworthy, reliable friend for my knife. There are many options out there and if the Woodlore team trust this one then it's a go. The Woodlore shop is also surprisingly competitively priced against Amazon and the like. Thank you Woodlore team!

Very compact & lightweight. Sharpened the knife very quickly in just 8 strokes each side.

Wanted this for ages. It's a good size and very nice, especially in the leather pouch. I have put this in my RM leather pouch with a fire starter.
I wanted a decent sized sharpener for in the field.

Can't ask for a better scandi bevel edge sharpener for field use.

I purchased the DC3 initially and received it very quickly but after seeing it in person I decided I would be better with the larger DC4. I returned the DC3 and the team at Woodlore were rapid in despatching th DC4 which arrived the next day, much to my surprise. The communication was excellent and I must say I felt Woodlore went above and beyond to see that I was a happy customer. That I am and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying from them! As for the DC4, I have managed to get a great edge on my Mora woodcarving knife and am soon to try and get my Companion in the same shape. I found it a little rough to start with, as Fallkniven state on the packaging, but it definitely smooths out after use. I'm so glad to finally be getting my knives properly sharp. Great stuff!

Fantastic item. Easy to carry and use. Gets a good edge on my knife. Excellent to be able to strop on the case

This is a quality stone and perfect for taking with you on a camp. It's extremely light and does a beautiful job of keeping your knife edge in pristine condition. Again, highly recommended and the service was first-class.

Bit rough to start with but will smooth down with usage

Great product, lightweight.

Fab Dab, all good. Very impressive knife sharpener, small, compact and only took a few strokes to get my knife super sharp. It's pocket sized, lightweight, and the holder can be used as a leather strop, so very clever. Good price at Ray Mears - delivered quick, good service, happy camper. Thanks a bunch!!

Better size than my Fallkniven DC3 Diamond/Ceramic Whetstone, and the softer back on one side of the case works well as a strop, it's still a perfect pocket size.

Very happy with this purchase. The small size makes it a perfect addition to my compact toolkit and I love how the case doubles as a leather strop.

Fantastic stone for field sharpening your bushcraft knife. Perhaps a little course on the blade so I wouldn't use it on an expensive knife but it does the job and gets my Mora Companion back to razor sharp in no time.

Excellent little stone. Light and compact. Very easy to use.

Looks like it does the business. Haven't used it yet though so I cannot comment further.

The larger sized waterstone is handy for taking with you but leaving at base camp as it is a bit bulky to carry about obviously. This item is a compromise really as the results are not as perfect as water stones but the surface stays level and it doesn't weigh a tonne. Easier for larger blades than its smaller relative (DC3). The sleeve could somehow double up as a gripper mat rather than being landfill as it slides about if used somewhere where you can't secure it. I've sharpened my blades very successfully on it. Cant say how long it will last yet. I've had the smaller version for years.

Great little sharpening stone - competitively priced and complete with a handy pouch. Very impressed with the service, even down to the quality packaging. Thanks.

Fantastic quality sharpener, nice leather holder, easy to carry in your pocket or bag. Sharpens excellently.

Good pocket sized stone, replaced a cracked one I had for years (don't drop it!) nice coarse diamond side for dressing the edge, ceramic side is pretty fine for sharpening up. DC4 is about as small as I'd want to go, but if you're a bit more coordinated you could save a few grams with the DC3...

Good little field stone and as always great service provided by Woodlore. Thank you.

Really small but adequate to sharpen a small hunting knife. Use the gold coloured side first and then the darker ceramic side to finish. The cover has a rough rear side for stropping, it's advisable to use some stropping compound.

For the price, you can't argue.

Excellent sharpening stone, delighted with purchase.

Great sharpener. Just what I was after, handy size and easy to use. I have this one and one of the Fallkniven CC4, which has an even finer ceramic surface. Together they are the perfect set.

I've just used this once to sharpen the Mercator K55K Folding Pocket Knife and it worked very well. Ray recommends a modern fixed angle sharpener for this specifc knife, though I thought I'd get this whetstone as I can use it on a variety of knives if required. Very functional, in a lovely leather pouch and the perfect size for any jacket or trouser pocket.

I have had the DC4 a little while and think it's a great pocket sized sharpening stone. It's useful to have around for quick maintenance. Have used it on a few knives, my Companion Heavy Duty in particular. I have also used it to restore a decent edge on an old Swiss Army Knife. I like the fact it's so portable and it is pretty straightforward, I would recommend.

Smaller and shorter than its bigger brother, its size will be appreciated as you're much more likely to keep this with your knife or in your kit bag.

When in use, exactly as expected from Ray Mears YouTube video

Puts a tremendous edge on dull blades with very little effort though confused why the instructions state no water is to be used as this is the very definition of a whetstone to my knowledge?...notwithstanding an excellent item and very reasonably priced for the quality!

Handy little stone to carry with your knife for touching up any burrs
