Takes a little getting used to and you will need to make a hardwood mallet to go with it but very effective tool for shingles and splitting - extraordinarily easy to sharpen - a bit niche and you can make do with other tools but this does save a lot of work on certain tasks

I was disappointed with this tool. Gransfors Bruks seem to have such a good reputation. The upper edge (rectangular spine) of this froe had a 4" section that had a wave in it which transferred to the cutting edge. When they ground the edge they put the wave back in. Really bad quality control. I'm surprised. The cost of returning it back to England from California USA seemed crazy. A moment spent inspecting each item might be a good idea.

Really nice quality item - as you would expect from Gransfors Bruks. Not cheap but an extremely capable wood splitter with fingers etc well out of the way!

Waited along time to get this and not disappointed; great blade and steel and weight. Comes in two pieces and you knock it together. Seems like it would come apart again for travel pretty easily. Great tool can't wait to use this.
