I got the knife the other day. I took it on the Norfolk Broads first off as an emergency rope cutter. Boats, Broads (the watery kind) and ropes can be dangerous.
Always prudent to have a knife.

I have held the knife in my hand unsheathed (Oooh matron!) and although I haven't used it in any practical sense yet I know it's good!

Fellow passengers commented. "That's an awesome knife!"

One day I will saved up enough money to justify buying The Ray Mears knife!
A 5 star Life Goal for sure.

Thanks again Woodlore.
Your'e da best!

Superb value for money. This is my first bushcraft knife and it meets all my expectations. Really well made and beautiful to handle. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants an inexpensive but highly practical and robust knife.

I bought this knife for my son who is getting interested in the DoE award this year and crafting equipment out of wood is a great discipline for us to enjoy together. So much so that I bought myself this knife too. A good strong tool - we have fashioned a pot hanging device so far from "Ray Mears Essential Bushcraft".

This knife is perfect, good to hold and perfect for making fires with. Cheap but effective.

Well made knife from Mora.

Great product even if yet to test it fully.... feathersticks like a dream. Feel the description could or should have said carbon steel in heading as I was actually after the stainless and purchased in a hurry (my bad i guess!)...! But I am very happy with the product and the service received ,- it was ordered and posted same day and I received the next. Happy days!

Initially the case and handle felt cheap and plasticky, although this is a budget knife so that is not surprising. However, having used it for some time they are solid, rugged and well made. The blade was prone to rust spots, but that's a reflection of the carbon steel it is made of; a thin coat of oil has resolved it. Overall though the knife is fantastic, the edge is razor sharp and holds its edge well. The handle is ergonomic, very easy to get a firm grip on, and solid. The holster is robust and spacious, allowing easy insertion and removal of the blade. Thoroughly recommend it.

Very happy with this purchase and excellent service from Woodlore. The Mora Knife, Heavy Duty, has a thicker blade to withstand more punishing use and is a nice budget introduction into knife craft; something to practice with before getting a more expensive option or as I have done, making your own knife. I love Mora knifes they are well made carbon steel blades with a nice comfortable handle. The sheath is okay it does the job and is sturdy yet it will invite you to buy a leather sheath or make one yourself. One thing to be aware of is that although the blade is sharp, it will need honing to get it field sharp. Also the spine is rounded I found it won't work well as a Ferro Rod striker unless you flatten the spine first to get a nice 90 degree edge; which I did using coarse sand paper. There are some good videos on You Tube taking you through the whole process.
All in all a very versatile knife at a great price, highly recommend it as a must have item for Bushcraft whether you are beginning or more experienced.

Excellent value, very usable knife. Perfect shaped handle and blade and enough weight. Much better quality than you would expect for the price. Haven't sharpened yet, but steel looks pretty good.

Fantastic value and great quality. Arrived very quickly. Knife fits nicely in the hand and is super sharp and beautifully balanced. Not overly keen on the plasticy sheath but it does the job.

Decent beginners' knife (which I am). Seems to carve well, and be of good quality. For me, it's very good value.

The Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty is incredibly good value. I have used it quite a bit for carving and it's easy to keep reasonably sharp with a DC4 or similar stone. I highly rate this bushcraft knife, it might not be the very best but is a good choice if starting out. It's a good all-rounder and well worth having.

Will be appreciated by no nonsense outdoors enthusiasts. Solid, razor sharp, feels weighty and great value for the money. Will take a beating if battening.
The carbon steel needs to be kept oiled especially if not regularly used, or kept as a back-up.
In conclusion does what it says on the tin, great starter knife but don't expect to be passing it down in your will like Woodlore's top end knives.

Speed of delivery and packaging were excellent.
I've not been out in the field with the knife yet, but I tried it out making a feather stick.
It feels really good in my hand, beautifully sharp out of the packaging. Lovely and controllable and what an excellent price.
I'm really looking forward to the summer now and improving my woodwork and fire starting skills.

A well-built, sturdy knife. No complaints with the handle or casing however, the blade required some sharpening at home to reach the edge desired.

My order came promptly and complete, I was very satisfied. Woodlore held onto my order until it could be fulfilled completely, keeping me informed at all stages.

Looks a fair knife, fairly sharp out of the box. As for the heavy duty claim, I found it a very light and looks like it may not stand up to serious abuse. The handle is decent but the sheath is already a little loose; time will tell.
But all said, for the price and the service you got, I will do business with this company again.

This is a great knife to use for getting into general whittling/carving and bushcraft skills. The handle is really comfortable and the knife is very easy to handle/use. It comes sharp from the factory and ready to use.

A great knife for the money and does the job well and good to have around if you are on a wet camp especially with the plastic sheath and when you don't want to use your best knife. You can abuse this one and just buy another one if you damage it at this price.
I'm not too keen on the plastic sheath for general use so I have bought the leather one which is much better for everyday wear.

Just a basic knife which seems adequate for general tasks.

Brilliant knife at a great price, just what I needed for my starter pack, highly recommend this knife and Woodlore in general.
