Excellent!

A very useful bit of kit.

Excellent bit of kit for a decent price. Up to now I have only ever used locking folding-blade knives. I know that Ray counsels against folding knives and, having used this Morakniv knife, I understand why. Who would have thought it makes so much difference. The handle gives me a comfortable grip. The sheath is rugged plastic with a belt clip that works, it surely won't come adrift accidentally. So - why only 3 stars? Because the sheath is right-handed, so it won't suit the 10% of the population who are left-handed. This may sound like a small issue but I am finding it a real annoyance each and every time I use the tool. 10% is not insignificant. A left-handed sheath should be an option please.

The Mora Companion is an excellent knife.
The scandi grind is very sharp out of the box, light weight and comfortable to hold.
I consider a knife a cutting tool, not a chopper and this knife represents incredible value for money So good in fact, I bought two.
Delivery as usual was very quick for the UK.

A well made and thought out design with a blade that keeps it's edge. The sheath attaches easily to a belt or molle loop on my pack. As always faultless service from Woodlore.

Robust and scalpel sharp. I cant honestly see why you wouldn't need anything more expensive than this unless under continuous heavy use by experienced woodsman/woodswoman. For my uses it was perfect.

Great knife. Paper cutting sharp straight out of the box. The steel is sharp, durable and will take such a sharp edge. You simply cannot get a better knife for the money. I am going to buy another when I make my next purchase.

As a beginner I am looking to use this knife as my number one item.
I am keen to explore what it can do.
I used it with a fire steel; with a little wire wool I removed all the marks on the blade this process created.
I used it for splitting wood for my hobo stove. From 2 x 2 foot long pieces of seasoned pine I used the knife to split it into 1/2 by 1/2 pieces.
I then cut match stick size pieces for fine tinder.
I used the knife to cut feather sticks.
With a few wipes on a sharpening stone the extremely sharp edge was restored.
I look forward to using this knife in my outdoor pursuits.

Super knife, ideal for learning with. It is strong enough to withstand heavy use, including being used to split wood (just don't hit the back of the handle). The carbon steel will tarnish and rust if you dont take good care of it, but that just reinforces its use as a training tool - learn to look after this knife, then treat yourself to a pricier one once you've got the hang of sharpening etc.

Having already used an example of the knife I already knew what to expect and my purchase lives up to my expectations. The knife comes in a plastic sheath which is sometimes a bit sticky but does hold on to the knife very well. I cannot fault the ordering process or the condition of the companion knife. I would have appreciated some simple how to care for information perhaps on a single sheet of paper. Many people will not know how to maintain the sharpness of the blade.

Great quality from Mora and top service from Ray Mears bushcraft as usual. Knife needs a little refining along the spine for use with a firesteel, but that's very easily sorted with a file.
