Solid book giving a good overview of jogging along in the deep cold. Makes a good coffee table book as it is quite large and has lovely pictures.

This was a gift for my (adult) son who is a scout leader. He was absolutely thrilled to receive this book. I know it will be read from cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't read the book but was very impressed with the layout, photos and quality. Such a bonus to get a signed copy too.

I think this is a great book. Quite a lot of the content is covered in Rays and Lars other books, but this one has good photographs detailing outlining the techniques used in the book. I'm pleased with it as even though it's unlikely I'll ever be in a cold climate to try this stuff out, much of it is still applicable to our habitat.

Excellent book, with great images and a very interesting read, would recommend to anyone who has an affinity to the outdoors.

My favorite book out of all Ray's books. Everything is perfect in this book. The information that is provided for the reader is second to none and also photos and even the quality of the paper is top notch.

By far the best parts of this book, in my opinion, are the comprehensive kit lists. I, like many, seriously struggle when it comes to knowing exactly what I should (and shouldn't) take on my trips. This is a particular issue when canoeing (which the book mentions) because the load capacity of a canoe is so great, I have a tendency of taking things just because it fits, not because I need it.

Again and again, Woodlore provide a brilliant service. The book was a gift. Lovely presentation, pictures and very useful comments. A plus that it is signed by Ray Mears.

Bought this book as a prezzie to self having bought most of his books. Once I received it and had a flick through I became increasingly disappointed. It's a weighty tome that is largely made up of pictures and similar survival advice from his previous publications. It's 336 pages that could easily be far fewer.

An incredibly informative and beautifully presented book full of incredible photos and inspirational snapshots of rapidly vanishing ways of life. I would say that this is the most attractive bushcraft book I have seen. And to be signed by the man himself; what an honour!

I purchased this as a present for my partner from my family ... lovely book, beautiful and practical and a must for any Ray Mears or Lars Falt fans. The photographs are amazingly beautiful and it is really interesting.

I was able to attend Ray's evening "lecture" in November 2017 at The Liverpool Philharmonic and a wonderful and entertaining evening it was. His marvelous comprehensive book "Out on the Land" is superbly presented and so informative, it truly helps to put his lecture into perspective. If you are really interested in what Ray does and in the lore of nature and the backwoods, then purchase this book. It is a fabulous coffee table book, which will reveal a lot more of our world, both natural and ancient.

Great read and very informative. I haven't actually finished it yet but am already looking forward to re-reading it.

I absolutely love this book. It's packed full with bushcraft knowledge and inspiration. The book covers a lot of aspects of bushcraft and I love how the native people of the Boreal forest are highlighted. The reader also receives helpful tips on what to look for when buying certain gear and this is very helpful since there's a lot of choices out there (different materials etc). I live in Sweden and could have bought it from a local merchant but then it would not have been signed by Ray Mears. Of course I spent extra money on getting it shipped here just for that. This is a great buy.

Bought Ray and Lars' book Out on the Land. Superb production values. Fascinating read. Very much an instructional book. Dense. Full colour. Delighted with it and thoroughly recommend but a coffee table book rather than a field guide.

This book is very well put together with lots of great outdoor information for your adventures. Very nicely illustrated. You won't be disappointed as this information can be used anywhere in the world in your travels.

Visually stunning, the photography is mind blowing. As always, the depth of subjects is enough to inspire you to try new things, but not over the top that you lose interest.

Fascinating read full of detail. Also the beautiful photography inside perfectly documents each topic and process. It will be something I can always pick up and learn from again and again.

My only grumble is that it is just a bit too large to take with me on my travels. The information is valuable and it would be fantastic to have it bound in a more portable size.
